Cox Commemorates
November 11th with Special "Thank You" to Vets

Item give-aways, PSAs and employee recognitions are part of the effort to recognize area veterans and members of the armed forces
To honor and thank area residents who have served in the armed forces, Cox is providing commemorative American flag lapel pins to veterans and their family members through its retail stores on Wednesday, November 11.  In addition to veterans, Cox also invites current persons serving in the military as well as their family members to its retail stores to collect this personal thank you item.

Cox Senior Vice President and General Manager Gary McCollum knows first hand the commitment that the military makes to protect our country. McCollum himself served eight years as an Army Ranger. “At Cox, we understand that our military personnel protect us every day so that we can continue to enjoy our freedoms here at home. Their sacrifices and service to our country are greatly appreciated. This token of our appreciation is just one small way that we are recognizing the great service that veterans have provided to our nation,” McCollum said.

Cox employees who have served their country also will be recognized as a part of the Cox Veterans Day recognitions. They will receive a token of appreciation from Cox and there will be signs posted at Cox work places thanking military veterans for their dedicated service.

Cox also will premiere a special public service announcement thanking military veterans for their service, sacrifices and commitment to the country. McCollum and other Cox employees who have served in the military will be featured in the PSA.

Vice President of Cox Business Mike Braham, who flew Harrier jets as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, also values Cox’s role with military members living in the Hampton Roads community. “As a veteran, it is great to see a company that gives thanks to our dedicated soldiers and veterans,” Braham said.

To receive the token of recognition, visit any Cox retail outlet. Stores are located in area Malls and are also located throughout the region. The commemorative items will be available while supplies last.
