Boys & Girls Clubs Get A Hand from a Good Neighbor

Cox Hampton Roads has been a long-standing benefactor of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, providing funding, in-kind contributions and volunteer support to Clubs across the region.  And Cox Communications is happy to say that some of our corporate neighbors have stepped up to lend a hand. 

Recently this South Norfolk club welcomed a delivery of appliances, a donation from our friends at East Coast Appliance. With a newly stocked kitchen, the club will be making a big difference in the lives of hundreds of young people every week.

“Oh that’s a tremendous step up here in the club, that provides us with momentum we need, the appliances we need,” says Gregg Shivers of the Boys and Girls Club. “Through East Coast Appliance coming in and helping, it allows us to get this program up and running, the Kids Café program up and running.”

“I feel really proud to be able to help with that,” says Rob Nicholson, President of East Coast Appliance.  “It’s neat to show people in the community we care. It’s like helping a part of our family and that’s important to me.”
