Cox Takes the Plunge at the 14th Annual Polar Plunge Winter Festival.

Cox Hampton Roads was pleased to be a presenting sponsor of Polar Plunge XIV. More than 3,000 participants plunged into the cold winter ocean, raising almost $600,000.

The annual event benefits Special Olympics Virginia, the state program of Special Olympics Incorporated, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities at no cost to the athletes or their families.

Cox employees turned out in force, helping to raise more the $12,000 in donations for the athletes.  And yes, it was a bit chilly that day.  But it was all worth it.
