At a recent ceremony at Portsmouth City Council, representatives of the network presented Christa Johnson of I.C. Norcom High School with a scholarship.  The teacher that Christa wrote about, Dotty Dray, was presented with a special vacation.

Cox Communications and TNT partnered together and used the Johnson & Johnson Spotlight Presentation of The Ron Clark Story as a platform to bring the network’s My Teacher, My Story, My Life Essay Contest to local Hampton Roads high school students.

The Ron Clark Story is an uplifting tale of a teacher that changed the lives of his students while teaching the meaning of success. Students were tasked with writing an original 500-word essay about a teacher that made a significant impact on their life.

One grand prize winner from each market received a $1,000 scholarship. The teachers being honored in the winning essays were rewarded with a getaway trip.
